Parents in Mavoko have been urged to use treated mosquito nets to prevent their families especially the under aged from malaria infections.

Speaking to this reporter on the phone on Thursday, Mavoko MP Patrick Makau said the parents have to do everything possible to ensure their children are safe from the disease.

Makau said treated mosquito nets could help prevent the children and entire members of families from infections.

He said prevention is better than cure hence the need by parents to have their families sleep under nets regularly to prevent them from the disease.

Makau also called on expectant women to keep visiting clinics for medical check ups and also ensure they slept under the nets to avoid getting infected by the disease before deliver.

He said it is an individual's responsibility to keep free from diseases especially those that can easily be prevented from infections.

Makau called on medical practitioners from public health facilities in the region to scale up campaigns against malaria.
