Women in Mavoko have lauded the region's security agencies for what they termed enhanced security in the area.
Led by the sub county's Maendeleo Ya Wanawake Chairlady Angelina Mutethia, they said cases of insecurity had gone down in the region.
"We as women from Mavoko sub county are happy with our security agencies, their hard work has seen a drastic drop in insecurity cases in the entire region," said Ms Mutethia.
Mutethia who addressed the press in Athi River town on Monday however, urged police officers to be more vigilant during the December festive season.
She said security should be enhanced by deploying more police officers to the slums that dominate the sub county.
"Though we are apparently experiencing improved security in the region, we should not take chances hence need to deploy more police officers in the slum areas which dominate the Mavoko sub county" said Mutethia.
Mutethia noted that unruly youth might be tempted to engage in criminal activities during the festive season in attempt to make easy money.
