Speaking on the sidelines of a health centre opening ceremony in Kabatini, the youths applauded governor Kinuthia Mbugua's style of leadership saying that he cannot be compared to some governors across the country.

"Anybody who feels the governor has under-performed should visit different parts of the country before making such a uninformed conclusions," Millicent Reny, whose hometown is Kisii but works in Nakuru said.

She said Mbugua has performed much better than other "seasonal politicians", baring in mind that he is a first timer in politics.

Ben Otieno, another resident, feels the street lighting project is among the projects that has made the lives of Nakuru residents better.

"Now days, businesses thrive until late in the night because of the streetlights and security because all dark spots are now well lit," he said.

Janet Maina, a journalist, feels his open office approach stole the confidence of many residents because they feel he has nothing to hide from them.

"We have seen some county governments and assemblies lock out reporters from their proceedings, but not Mbugua, what does he have to hide from his people and Kenyans?" she posed.

Ever since he ascended to power, Mbugua has demonstrated commitment in ensuring all his campaign pledges are fulfilled.
