Ndeiya Ward representative Nelson Munga has asked police to streamline security and deal with criminal elements in the area.
Speaking to the public at Nduini trading centre in Ndeiya, Limuru Sub-County on Friday, Munga said that cases of crime are being reported in some parts of the area and asked the police to increase surveillance.
Mr Munga said that residents have complained over increasing criminal activities in the area.
The MCA said that police have the responsibility to provide and guarantee security of citizens at all times.
“Our law enforcers should aim at providing security to citizens at all times. Criminal elements must be smoked out and dealt with according to the law,” said Munga.
The MCA urged the police to conduct more patrols in the area and streamline security.
He also urged the police to establish good relations with members of the public as a strategy of defeating crime.
Meanwhile, the MCA has cautioned youths against engaging in alcoholism.
The MCA said that some youths gone back to drinking months after the crackdown on illegal alcohol and illicit brews.
He asked chiefs in the area not to relent in the war against illicit brew noting that the illegal trade has wasted many lives.
Munga said that he will work with local leaders to ensure that the war against illicit brews is successful.
