Speaking on Sunday at a funds drive at Kiamaina Primary School, Kamau said county MPs led by Kimani Ngunjiri (Bahati) have been inciting Nakuru residents against governor Kinuthia Mbugua claiming that he is not delivering his campaign promises.

"Governor Mbugua has done a lot for this county and everybody can see the kind of work he is doing but some people cannot just see that and all they can do is to incite the public against the governor, we want them to know that we are carefully watching," said Kamau.

The MCA said that Members of County Assembly will defend governor Mbugua and asked those opposed to him to wait until 2017 elections.

"Those who think they will be elected governors by just making noise should be warned that 2017 will be a time of reckoning and the people will make their choices based on track records of leaders," he said.

Kiamaina ward representative aspirant Dan Miano lashed at Ngunjiri for spending much time attacking the governor instead of initiating development projects in his constituency.

"Ngunjiri should do what we elected him to do as our MP and leave the governor to do his work ," said Miano.

Kamau revealed that he will contest against Ngunjiri for the Bahati parliamentary seat in 2017.
