Kiamaina ward representative Samuel Kamau wants the independent electoral and boundaries commission to pitch camp at markets, saying that it will enable them register many voters.
Kamau said markets within Nakuru County have a huge concentration of people and having registration centers there will ensure that IEBC captures many people who cannot find time out of their jobs to go and register.
The MCA said that traders at most markets are so occupied and cannot find time or close their businesses in the name of going to be registered as voters.
“There are so many people working at the markets and if IEBC can pitch camp there they we can be sure that all those people will be registered as voters before time elapses,” said Kamau.
He also called on the commission to place registration clerks at main churches on Sunday to ensure that church goers get a chance to be registered.
“On Sunday so many people go to church and that is also a good avenue for IEBC to use in capturing new voters,” he said.
