Nyamira Members of the County Assembly have asked the county government to install modern microphones and related equipment to help them effectively dispense their functions at the County Assembly.
In a heated debate on Tuesday, the MCAs cited shame and embarrassment they encounter when bench marking with the Senate and National Assemblies.
"We were so much embarrassed during our recent visit to the Senate when we were not able able to operate the microphones, we were so much ashamed and this is something we will not want to face again," said Benson Sironga.
He added: "We urge the government to install modern microphones so that we can learn from ours before visiting other places."
The Assembly's Minority Leader, Laban Masira promised to table a report in the house on next week on the same issue.
The Nyamira County Assembly is currently not fitted with microphones.
