A Nakuru based media consultant Wakio Mbogo argues that if that is done, then the country will not only realise economic growth but will equally enjoy more stability and ethnic cohesion.

She spoke Monday during a workshop hosted by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission for journalists from the Central Rift region.

Mbogo noted that cases of hatred and moral disintegration were gaining momentum thanks to the breed of journalists who give them undue coverage and prioritise sensationalism.

She also highlighted the role of the media in promoting the voter registration drive, and challenged journalists to ensure they report accurate and balanced information to their consumers.

The event which was held at the Nuru Palace Hotel sought to train journalists on how to cover the ongoing voter registration exercise which kicked off Monday across the country. The exercise will close on March 15.
