Residents of Migosi in Kisumu County are appealing for speedy construction of the road linking the area to Kondele.
On Tuesday, residents said construction of the road has dragged for the past three months, a move that is inconveniencing them.
They complained of mud during the rainy season and dust in dry weather.
Speaking to this writer on Tuesday morning, the residents said construction materials have been dumped on the roadside yet nothing has been done.
“This sand was placed four weeks ago, and we thought that our wait is finally over, but that seems to be a pipe dream as nothing is being one," one of them said.
According to the residents, sand dumped on the roadside has cut off a lot of space, inconveniencing movement of people and vehicles.
Matatu operators who ply the route have also urged for speedy construction of the road saying they are forced to use longer routes in accessing the Kenya Re and Lolwe estates.
At the moment, the route can only allow the passage of one vehicle at a time.
Efforts to get comment from the area MCA Paul Ochayo were futile as his phone switched off.
