Wouldn't it be nice for your bank account mini statement to have the same number of digits as your phone number?
You would probably pick up the phone and dial it.
To many, this will remain a fantasy but to an elite few, this is their reality. What we wouldn't give to swap places!
Kenya has around US$8,500 millionaires a bulk, 6,100, of whom are located in Nairobi. The rest are scattered over the remaining counties and Nakuru has its own share of them.
So where would they live? You will find them in the outskirts of the town. Far away from the noise and polluted air but close enough to access it with ease.
An example of such a residence is Milimani. As its name suggests, it is located on the hills. Those that live here wake up to a beautiful view of the sunrise and that of Lake Nakuru every morning.
Some of the best hotels in town are a stone throw away. The likes of Capital Hill. As you would guess, the houses here are luxurious, the kind you would otherwise see in movies.
To live here is either cheap or expensive depending on who you are. Properties go for as high/low as Sh14 million. The latest hood in this part of town is DewDrop Estate. You don't have to be an Einstein to know that this is no place for the 'sirkal saidia' mwananchi.
I imagine that for you to buy such a property, you must be in the eight figure bracket.
Milimani is not the only lavish estate around. You can also find the who's who of Vegas in areas such as Naka, Kiamunyi and Blankets.
For the majority of us who are yet to afford rent, let alone property in these hoods, worry not, we can't all fit there!
