Molo MP Jacob Macharia has defended the Constituency Development Fund saying it has helped develop his constituency.
Addressing the public in the town on Tuesday, the MP said CDF money has so far enhanced the education sector in the constituency.
“It had been proposed that CDF be scrapped and the monies channeled to county governments but Molo alone has benefited so much from the kitty because if you look around, we have schools rehabilitated while others have actually been set up,” he said.
The MP said the highlight of the fund is the building on Elburgon Technical Training Institute in the constituency where CDF has funded part of the project.
He also said several secondary and primary schools as well as health centres have been built using CDF.
Macharia told his constituents that he has received complaints on some bad roads and that they have been earmarked for rehabilitation.
“Some of the roads that are in a bad condition will be spot filled and graded so that we have movement made easy for the people her and those transporting produce from their farms to other parts of the country,” he told the public.
Some of the residents who spoke to this writer hailed the MP for rallying behind the construction of Elburgon institute.
James Kinuthia said his brother who will graduate to form three next year will save his parents the headache of pursuing higher education from far flung destinations.
