Borabu MP Ben Momanyi has been accused of diverting Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to boost projects at his backyard in Kiabonyoru ward.
The attack comes barely two months after similar allegations were levelled against the MP by Agricultural Financial Cooperation chairman Patrick Osero.
Speaking on Thursday when he toured Nyansiongo township ward, aspiring MP Dancliff Mbura said the MP was neglecting other sections of the constituency and serving the upper Borabu region where he was overwhelmingly supported in 2013 polls.
“We have one Borabu constituency and the MP should come to terms about that. Serving one section of the constituency amounts to discrimination that the supreme law (constitution) disallows. We want to see development taken to all section regardless of resident’s political affiliation,” he said.
Mr Mbura said CDF kitty was used to boost education and infrastructural support in a little section of the constituency and urged Mr Momanyi to listen to all constituents without favours.
“We respect the person that is in power and we demand that he explains why the CDF kitty is used to boost education and infrastructure in the upper Borabu region only. He has to accept the mistake and rectify if with immediate effect,” he said.
He threatened to marshal area residents from the lower region to demonstrate against the MPs administration tactics if the issue was not solved expeditiously.
“He has to fix the problem before we take him head on. We want to see equity and accountability and that is the general mood at the ground,” Mbura added.
