As the Uhuru Kenyatta’s tour at the coast got into the fourth week, some of the counties within the region got a bigger share as others had to share the spoils half way.

Uhuru Kenyatta who has been at the coast since 24th December last year, raised the hopes of the natives’ main economic heartbeat- the tourism industry as he saw through several tourism related projects which is set to uplift Mombasa county's economic stake.

Despite Mombasa county's leaders being on the forefront in claiming that the president had ignored them, they gained a lot as the president launched a multi-million worthy power project which will ensure the town; well known for tourism is well lit within the streets.

The president further launched a major pathway to the port which is set to open up congestion of trucks and lorries which ships off containers and other cargoes from the main terminus and that was the Portreitz – Shimanzi canal which will work as a decongestant.

Another project which is still viewed as the last born of all is the promise by the president to restructure and overhaul renovation of the infrastructure of whole of the largest market at the coast Kongowea market.

Many residents have appreciated what the president offered to them on what is termed as the political enticement by some political analysts at the coast.
