Mombasa police have launched a manhunt search for four most wanted terror suspects within the county. 

The suspects who escaped the grip of police in King’orani area, Mombasa, are wanted by the police so that they can answer to terrorism charges.

One of the suspects, Abdifatah Twahir, is alleged to have stored weapons in Mombasa. He was also involved in recent terrorist activities targeting security agents and innocent Kenyans especially non-Muslims residing in Mombasa and Malindi.

Other suspects are, Kassim Mohamed Abdallah, a tuk-tuk operator in Mombasa, Mohamud Mohamed alias Gasere from Malindi, Hussein Omar Said alias Bably are also being looked for by the police to answers to charges related to the attack on the Nyali barracks and the murder of a police officer guarding Gulf Bank, Mombasa.

Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, Mombasa County Commissioner, Nelson Marwa, and police commander, Francis Wanjohi, explained that if they found one of the suspects, they would use him to catch the others.

The police issued photos of the suspects and urged citizens to report them immediately if seen as these men were considered a threat to national security.
