News that the famous Kenchic Inn would withdraw from the market and focus on chicken processing as from March 31, 2016 has been met with strong reactions from Mombasa residents.
On Wednesday, news hit headlines that the poultry processing firm had decided to withdraw it's rights to the brand name, colours and logos, a move that will result to closure of the fast food joints.
Most of the county's residents expressed shock and sadness over the matter, saying they loved frequenting the restaurant.
"Whenever I come from the club, my first stop is usually at Kenchic. It is my favourite place to get take away fries. This is just so disappointing," said Eddy Wanjala.
The Kenchic branch located along Moi Avenue in Mombasa, is popular among residents who attend churches located in the town.
"They should have reconsidered the decision. I usually have lunch with my family at the restaurant every Sunday after church,” said Ann Gambo.
