More than 2, 000 university and secondary school students in Gatundu North sub county will benefit from Kshs. 3.6 million CDF bursaries which will be directly deposited to beneficiaries in their respective schools.

Andre Kimani, the sub county CDF financial administrator noted on Thursday in his Kamwangi office that the applications for the January bursary had been done and that the vetting process was ongoing.

He revealed that the vetting process is being done by local administrators in collaboration with selected CDF representatives from every sub location.

"We have Kshs. 3.6 million that our CDF has been allocated to issue to poor and bright students as January bursary. We advertised for the bursary in churches, community events as well as posting announcements in our townships. The application process is complete and the vetting process is ongoing. We have this time selected representatives from every sub county to work in harmony with chiefs and their assistance to ensure transparency in the bursary allocation," he said.

He pointed out that every student would receive from Kshs. 2,000 to Kshs. 10 ,000 shillings depending on the need of the student.

He lauded parents for their cooperation with regards to the application and requested them to be patient as the selected officers complete the vetting process.

He erased fears of corrupt engagements in the vetting process citing that all sub locations will have similar number of beneficiaries although the given amount will differ depending on the students' need.
