Motorists using the Molo-Olenguruone road have welcomed the move by the national government to construct the road that, has been in a pathetic condition for over five years.
They said the construction will ease their operations and increase their daily incomes.
"We are happy because we will be able to make more trips, which means our daily income will rise. Our vehicles have been breaking down every time due to the poor state of the road. We are delighted that the government has remembered us," said Stanley Mwangi, a matatu driver.
Last year, the motorists took to the streets of Molo town to compel the government renovate the road.
Already, Chinese contractors have been surveying the road for the past week, with their heavy machines already on the ground.
