Motorist in Kibera have shared their joy as the fuel prices dropped starting Sunday as announced by the Energy Regulation Commission (ERC).
Speaking to this writer at Makina market, the motorists said that the commission has really helped them.
"The new prices which took will help me calculate how much I can save. For example if I decide to fuel my motorcycle with super petrol I will be able to save at least four shillings," said Allan Mauyo.
The general director of ERC Joseph Ng’ang’a said on Friday that the prices were reduced due to the average landed cost of imported fuel.
The residents of Kibera said that they were thankful for the reduction of kerosene prices as well. The new cost of kerosene has gone down by Kshs. 1.23 per litre.
"I am thankful that the commission has reduced the prices. I can now cook without stress since I will spend less money to buy kerosene," said Anita Biwott.
