Over 5,000 residents in Nyaribari Chache constituency are set to benefit from a water project currently implemented by the area Member Parliament.
Speaking during the launch of a borehole and water pan, MP Richard Nyagaka Tong'i said the area has been facing some water challenges and they look forward to end the same.
He added the project is expected to be complete in a month’s time and is aimed at boosting food security and fostering economic growth in the area.
The legislator revealed that the borehole is 280 meters deep and together with the water pan, can provide water for the over 30,000 heads of cattle in the constituency.
Tong’i said the programme would enhance livelihood diversification by providing local communities with improved livestock breed, support to beekeeping and other enterprises as sources of alternative sustainable livelihoods.
“We have more projects that will be coming up aimed at ensuring our region develops more and as promised, I will be behind the projects to ensure they are completed on time,” he added.
