Kisumu Town West MP Olago Aluoch has questioned the hurry in which Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has done investigations into corruption allegation against former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Ann Waiguru.
Olago said the case has been fast-tracked deliberately by the commission.
Speaking in his constituency on Monday when he distributed bursary funds to needy students, Olago said there were many corruption cases that the commission has failed to investigate and give Kenyans the outcome.
“It raises eyebrows, why has the commission cleared this case when we have pending cases of other five cabinet secretaries. Why haven’t they been fast-tracked like this of Waiguru?” he posed.
The MP wondered why the commission expeditiously resolved the corruption allegations and termed the swift move as suspicious.
Olago claimed that Waiguru might be on her way back to the government.
He said President Uhuru Kenyatta in his latest reshuffle left an empty docket in his office and claimed she is destined for that office.
“There is a scheme to return Waiguru to the government. This is why the commission was quick in handling her case,” she said.
The commission had written to the Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua informing him that it did not find any evidence to warrant Waiguru’s prosecution.
