A Member of Parliament in Nakuru has called on the successful members of society to prioritise giving back to the community that nurtured them saying that its the small things that make an unforgettable impact.
Molo MP Jacob Macharia says the burden has been left to politicians, the church and other corporates, a move he noted is always not enough to cater for the needs of the whole society.
He spoke at Mianzini Primary School on Friday during the commissioning of three new classrooms one of which was funded by the KCB Foundation through the patronage of one Emily Nyambura; an alumni of the school who currently works with the Kenya Commercial Bank.
The MP expressed his satisfaction in such initiatives saying the society could be a better place if we had many people with such ideas.
Macharia noted that Molo is saturated with scholars and high profile individuals in both the public and private sector who can transform the area if they take up the iniative.
"They say, dance a yard before you dance abroad. If you have been blessed and have the capacity of doing one or two things for your home village, don't shy away; come, let's share ideas and see how best we can make Molo great," he said.
Nyambura is a relationships officer at the KCB Molo branch, and attende Mianzini Primary School. Through her links, the KCB Foundation constructed a Sh2 million class at the institution.
