An opposition lawmaker has faulted Coast regional commissioner Nelson Marwa over the withdrawal the security officers attached to Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and his Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi.
Ndhiwa MP Agostino Neto said Marwa's act amounted to political bullying due to the duo's massive involvement in the Malindi by-election in which ODM's Willy Baraka Mtengo trounced Jubilee's Philip Charo.
On Friday, Neto added that there was an elaborate scheme to arrest the two governors, and withdrawing their security detail was just part of the wider scheme.
Neto who spoke in Naivasha town also hit out at Marwa for seeking to return the country into the dark days when one party reigned supreme.
At the same time, Neto also claimed that the voter apathy being witnessed across the country in the ongoing voter registration exercise was an indication of mistrust the electorate has against the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, adding that claims of rigging were not being addressed genuinely.
