Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital has elaborate plans in place that will ensure it discharges its mandate as a training and referral facility in the region.
Speaking during the fifth graduation at the Graduation Square where 257 students graduated, Medical Services director Wilson Aruasa said their plan is to have a training school that offers diverse learning opportunities to increase the country’s healthcare human resource capacity.
“This is clearly shown by the high number of MTRH Training Centre alumni who have taken up executive jobs in the Health ministry thus needs to train high quality man power to meet the market demand,” he said.
He said as a teaching and referral hospital, they are proud to make this noble contribution of manpower development that will help transform the country.
“We are determined to be the leading institution in offering training to the health sector that will improve survive delivery and reduce wastage,” he said
He added that the hospital management committee has rolled out 2015 new programmes which include post graduate diploma in clinical pharmacy, anesthetist assistant course and higher diploma in clinical medicine and surgery (Mental Health and Psychiatry).
