Kikuyu musician Salim Junior was on Tuesday laid to rest at his father’s farm in Subukia, Nakuru County.

Salim died on January 23 at Nakuru’s War Memorial where he had been rushed after a short illness.

Fans, musicians and politicians thronged the burial and hailed the deceased as a legend and an inspiration to many.

“It is painful because he has left us. But we celebrate because he did what he was supposed to do, and it was done well. Everyone today knows Salim Junior,” said one speaker during the burial.

The gifted artist has left behind a wife and children.
