Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama has dismissed most of the projects implemented by the county government of Machakos, terming them as unnecessary.
Speaking on Friday in Tala town, the senator said Machakos people made a wrong choice by voting in Governor Alfred Mutua, a candidate he says he warned the people against.
He alleged that mismanagement of funds and resources were the main problems facing the county leadership
The senator said that Dr Mutua’s leadership has failed to realise the real needs of the people and instead had focused on compromising majority of the county assembly.
“I warned Machakos people against voting in Governor Mutua but they never listened. One day they will realise the big mistake they made,”said Muthama.
“If you audit the projects that have been undertaken by the county government, you will realise the county government has achieved nothing for the almost three years it has been in power,” he added.
He further called upon the MCAs to ‘rise against selfish interests' and ensure the county resources are well utilised for the benefit of its people.
