Speaking on Wednesday during a meeting with Nyandarua governor, Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua said that the water project will provide Naivasha residents with a safe drinking water.

He says the water will be free of fluoride that residents have been consuming for decades.

"The issue of weaker teeth and bones due to persistent consumption of water with high fluoride concentration has led to many Naivasha residents being ineligible for various professions such as police jobs," he said.

The meeting between the two governors established that the feasibility study for the proposed project has been completed with full funding having been approved by the World Bank.

It was also planned that the groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled to commence by beginning of 2016.

Other officials in the meeting included Nakuru and Nyandarua CeCs and some mCAs from both counties.
