Speaking after holding a meeting with Governor Kinuthia Mbugua, his Nyandarua counterpart Daniel Mwangi Waithaka and other high profile officials from the two counties where the project will be initiated, Within Foundation chief executive Gathea Kamau said the project will positively impact on the day-to-day activities of the common mwananchi.

He expressed confidence that the partnership will ensure that the devolution goals will be attained in the most convincing manner possible.

"Such initiatives lead to shared prosperity which means that minimum resources will be used to achieve the desired results," Gathera noted.

He called on cooperation between different stakeholders in making the project a success, saying the end product would make tangible impacts in the specific communities.

"Irrigation schemes will come up; there will be enough water for domestic use, in school, hospitals and other public amenities among other benefits. All we are calling for is a good working environment," the WF boss added.

If all goes as planned, the project is set to officially roll out in February 2016.
