Farmers in Nakuru county have been advised to practice organic farming in order to curb chemical related diseases and also reduces input cost. 

Speaking in Naivasha on Saturday, Dr. Florent Robert from the International Crop Research Agroforest (ICRAF) said that organic farming reduces the input cost hence maximising on profit. He also said with organic farming no chemical are used hence the chances of reducing chemical related diseases like cancer.

"Organic farming will reduce input cost hence maximising on profit; the technology will also reduce chemical related illnesses as no chemicals are used," said Robert.

"Organic farming will also make your products more accepteble in the European market as many European countries are now shuning the use of chemicals due to their side effects," he added.
