Nakuru leaders have condemned the murder of Egerton don Alex Mariera who is suspected was murdered by a gang posing as customers to buy his car.
Mariera, 28, was found killed on Thursday after he went out to meet his supposed customers. Nakuru Town West MP Samuel Arama condemned the killing and called on the police to do speedy investigations.
“It is unfortunate, those involved must be brought to book,” Arama said.
The death of the lecturer has sent shock within the town as cases of insecurity continue to be reported.
Mariera was reportedly shot from close range.
Residents asked security to be beefed up as the murder comes a few days after another two businessmen were abducted and their bodies found dumped in Gakoe forest in Kiambu.
