According to Mr. George Kimani the administrator at Nakuru county Women Representative office, the office will issue bursaries which are under the affirmative Action Social Development Fund.

"In this fund, we are supporting needy single mothers, widowers, physically challenged, women and orphans. We have set aside Kshs. 1.1 million per constituency specifically for bursaries,’’ said, Mr. Kimani.

The administrator went further to explain that the office will support women groups who will do proposals on projects that are viable.

Mr. Kimani revealed that it’s the first time the forty seven women representatives are utilizing the kitty due to some legal battles which have been going on at the national level which forced the treasury to withdraw the funds for 2013, 2014 & 2015.

“After the high court determined the cases mid of this month, the treasury allocated funds for 2015/2016. We are still optimistic that we might get the funds for 2013, 2014.,’ explained Kimani.
