Orange Democratic Movement Secretary General Ababu Namwamba has claimed the Jubilee government is planning to rig the 2017 elections.
Speaking at Moi University School of Law on Friday after giving a public lecture, Namwamba said the recent amendments of the Constitution that gives the president more powers were a pointer to the claims.
"We are reading malice in the recent amendments of the Constitution that gives the President powers to appoint and dismiss the Chief Justice. Why this time," he said.
He said that ODM will not allow such mutilation of the Constitution and that they will challenge the amendments in court.
"The Jubilee administration wants to take us back to the dark days where the President had a lot of powers where he was the final. We wont allow that," he added.
He called for the removal of the IEBC officials and replace them with competent individuals who will be able to man elections for it to be free and fair and for it to be credible.
