Employees of Nakuru Water Sewerage and Sanitation Services Company have threatened to down tools in two weeks time.

Addressing journalists in Nakuru Wednesday, the officials of the Kenya County Government Workers Union  Nawassco branch through their secretary general Francis Makokha issued a strike notice claiming the company directors are plotting to remove their managing director James Ng’ang’a from office using the courts.

Makokha has accused Nawassco’s director Geoffrey Asanyo of pushing for the removal of Ng’ang’a from office whose term he states has expired for what he has termed as overseeing the 'unprocedural hiring' of two other staff.

According to Makokha, all workers are in solidarity with Ng’ang’a and as a result, any attempt to remove him from office will be met with opposition, adding that Ng’ang’a has brought a lot of transformation to the company in his capacity as the MD.

The chairmanKGGWU Nawassco branch Zephaniah Nyambane on the other hand has claimed that Asanyo has decided to use the courts to intimidate Ng’ang’a who he says implemented a salary negotiation by the union last year in addition to improving water and sewerage services among other things.

The motion to remove Ng’ang’a from office is set to be heard on February 16  by the Nakuru Labour Relations and Employment court.

It is also the same day that the workers are set to begin their strike.
