Nakuru County Deputy Governor, Joseph Ruto, has urged all stakeholders to find a lasting solution to the Salgaa accident menace.
Speaking on Friday, in Njoro Park, during an interdenominational-cum-requiem mass for four of the five teenagers who perished at the black spot on New Year's Eve, Ruto observed that it was time leaders and all other stakeholders put an end to the blame game over the area which is synonymous with grisly crashes.
"Every time we are faced with the realities of the Salgaa tragedies, we always promise to act, however, it is now time that we say enough is enough and address this issue once and for all," he said.
Ruto also called on drivers plying the route to exercise more caution to avert needless accidents.
The five teenagers perished after the saloon car they were travelling in lost control before ramming onto an oncoming passenger bus in a case police concluded was caused by drunk driving and over speeding by the teenagers. The event which was organized by the county government of Nakuru in conjunction with religious leaders in the area, saw the bodies of four victims Kevin Kamuru, Bill Kamau, Brian Kariuki and Derrick Mbugua prayed for. The other victim Dominic Mwangi was laid to rest on Wednesday.
Nakuru Governor, Kinuthia Mbugua led the officials' delegation.
