Parents whose children attained 350 marks and above in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exams but don't have funds to take them to secondary school have been advised to apply for scholarships being offered by Equity Bank under the Wings To Fly program.
Speaking in Molo Town on Tuesday after holding a meeting with Equity Bank Molo branch manager, area MP Jacob Macharia advised parents to embrace the initiative, saying it would go a long way in promoting education in the constituency.
"Under the program, we are lucky to have been allocated 7 slots to top performers in the recently released KCPE results, let any needy student not miss out on this once in a life time chance," he said.
He called on any willing beneficiary to collect application forms at the Equity Molo branch and submit them before the deadline, January 6, 2016.
"As we struggle to promote education by allocating bursaries through our CDF kitty, such partnerships are commendable and will help us nurture an enlightened society that will be able to make sober and informed decisions," the MP added.
Under the program, beneficiaries are awarded fully paid for scholarships from form one up to university level.
