Thika MP Alice Ng’ang’a has called on her constituents to give her a hand in developing Thika and its environs.
The legislator said that she needs support in her mandate and now that the business persons and residents of the county government houses are living under fire she needs to deliver them from oppression.
The MP was speaking from Thika town where the constituents had half a day of interacting with their representative from their businesses exchanging notes on social, political and general issues on Thursday.
She said that the residents have been in support of her fight against oppression of the common ‘mwananchi’ by the Kiambu county government but there is a group of misled residents that has been trying to fight her recently.
“I might not be the best leader that Thika people could have wished for but for the little I do I need your support and respect in my efforts of fighting the oppressive leadership we have been experiencing around,” she said while addressing a group of youths in a business premises.
“Some people are trying to stop me from advocating for the people’s rights and I want to call on them to be calm and give their best support as I need you people more at this moment. Thika residents should avoid cheap politics and being paid to foil leaders meetings,” Ng’ang’a added.
The legislator has however vowed that she will not sit and watch the Kiambu government harass Thika residents and added that she will fight for their rights and privileges.
