Bahati Member of Parliament Kimani Ngunjiri has lauded the church and the clergy for their role in shaping society.

Ngunjiri said the church has played a big role in correcting and speaking against social ills in society. 

 Speaking Sunday at Bahati PECA Church, Ngunjiri said the church in Bahati was in the forefront of fighting against illicit of brews and reforming youths in the area.

"The church and the clergy have been very vital on shaping our society here in Bahati by helping us fight drug abuse and other vices in the society and we must thank them for that,"said Ngunjiri.

He added; "the clergy and the church have initiated several projects that have helped the society and this has helped in transforming peoples lives."

He called on church leaders to be bold enough and point out the political mistakes being made by elected leaders. 

"Don't be afraid when we make mistakes just face us and tell us and we will listen to you,"he said. 

 Ngunjiri called on the church to continue praying for the country's leadership.

 "The church must pray for this nation and its leaders especially at this time we are heading to the elections," he said.
