Kiambu MP Jude Njomo has asked youths in the constituency to shun criminal activities and support security measures being taken by law enforcers to fight crime.

Speaking to journalists at Kiambu Town on Sunday, Njomo said that taking part in crime will not solve the problems facing young people.

The MP instead urged the youths to work with their leader’s ion development projects. The Kiambu MP noted that cases of young people taking part in crime had been witnessed in the recent past.

“Young people should keep off criminal activities and also stay off acts that will put them in trouble if they want to make a meaningful contribution to the society,” said the Kiambu lawmaker.

Njomo said that crime will never and has never provided solutions to problems facing the youth. He urged the youths to work closely with their leaders on development agenda.

The MP also advised youths and other marginalised groups to take advantage of the Uwezo and Biashara Funds being given by the county government.

He said that marginalised groups will be able to better their lives if they apply for the development funds.

Njomo assured youths in the constituency of his commitment to better their lives through employment creation.

Meanwhile, the Kiambu legislator has called for enhanced security in the constituency. He asked the police to intensify security in parts of Ndumberi and Ting’ang’a Wards where he said cases of crime are rising.

Njomo said that as leaders they will partner with security officials to boost security in Kiambu.
