Kiambu MP Jude Njomo has asked politicians across the country to stop early political campaigns and instead focus on service delivery.

Addressing  residents in Kiambu town on Thursday, the MP said that early 2017 general election political campaigns will deny Kenyans services.

The lawmaker noted that some politicians had started campaigns at the expense of serving the people.

“My appeal is to politicians from both the government and opposition to stop engaging in early political campaigns and use the remaining time to serve Kenyans.” he said.

The MP said that elected leaders must strive and focus on development.

Njomo further urged politicians to tone down and desist from making statements that could polarize the country.

He said that political intolerance among leaders should be condemned adding that leaders must unite and bring Kenyans together.

Meanwhile, the MP assured Kiambu constituency residents that he will fulfill the development pledges he made to them during the 2013 general election campaigns.

Njomo said that various projects including road expansion, water access and youth empowerment programmess are being implemented in the constituency.

He urged residents to remain peaceful and support him as he seeks to transform the area through development projects.
