Kiambu county commissioner Alex Nkoyo has urged residents to cooperate with law enforcers in bid to curb crime and ensure peace.

Speaking to journalists at Kiambu Town on Monday, Nkoyo said that realisation of peace and security in the county depends on the cooperation between the locals and the police.

The Kiambu county commissioner said that locals have a big role to play when it comes to matters peace and security.

“I urge Kiambu residents to work with the police and other security agencies within Kiambu in order to effectively tame crime and ensure law and order,” said the commissioner.

Nkoyo said that law enforcers are ready to work with communities to ensure peace and order. The commissioner also urged residents to embrace community policing policies being introduced by the government.

He said the government has introduced various policies aimed at boosting security. Nkoyo while commenting on the adoption of Nyumba Kumi security initiative said much has to be done in terms of sensitizing the residents.

The county commissioner asked local chiefs and leaders to educate locals about Nyumba Kumi and other security measures being formulated by the government.
