Kiambu County Commissioner Alex Nkoyo has asked residents to be vigilant this festive season.
Speaking at Thika town on Saturday, the commissioner told residents to be alert and report immediately any suspicious person or activities to the police.
Nkoyo said that police themselves are on alert and ready to deal with criminal elements.
“We are urging members of the public to be extra vigilant as they celebrate Christmas and the New Year,” he said, adding police have put in place proper security measures.
Nkoyo said that more police have been deployed to patrol estates and villages across Kiambu. The Kiambu County Commissioner warned that criminal elements will not be entertained.
“Anyone who thinks he or she can cause fear through crime or any other lawless acts should think twice because we as police officers will not entertain any crime,” he said.
Nkoyo at the same time urged residents to celebrate responsibly and abide by the laws.
On the same note, Nkoyo has urged motorists in the county to abide by traffic regulations.
He said that accidents that are common during the festive season will be tamed if road users obey the laid down traffic regulations.
