A section of farmers at the embattled Ng'ati farm in Maella Naivasha have expressed confidence in getting justice after the National Land Commission (NLC) on Thursday took up the case and promised to do an overhaul audit to the farm.
They say that it was only the commission that would help unrevel the stalemate that has led to shedding of blood with more than 14 people currently being in police custody.
Speaking on the sidelines of a crisis followup meeting by the commissions chairperson Dr Mohammed Swazuri that was triggered by Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery's visit, they noted that time had come for the cooperative's directors to give them what belonged to them.
"However long it would take, we were sure that one day truth will stand and all of us will get justice. The commission should be impartial in their audit so that the truth could be unearthed," Eliakim Nderitu said.
Swazuri on his part promised justice saying that in his possession, he had an official list of the Ng'ati farm real beneficiaries and another one of intruders who had been fixed by persons he did not mention.
"I have a list of the 581 real beneficiaries and another one of 200 fake beneficiaries, nobody should worry now that I am personally here to show the commissions commitment in finding a lasting solution," he said.
The farm is at a succession row with a section of the farmers accusing so!e directors of selling the farm without consultation and giving it out to their relatives.
