Contractors working with the county government of Nyamira have been warned of doing low-quality work.
Governor John Nyagarama said the county government intends to blacklist all contractors doing sub-standard jobs.
“On roads, we are going to crack the whip on contractors who are doing sub-standard jobs,” Nyagarama said.
“We will also force them to redo the roads before we finally blacklist them,” the tough-talking county boss said.
Nyagarama said that in the past few days, he has inspected works done on more 100km of roads in the vast county, and was quite satisfied with the progress.
While revealing plans to further open up new roads and repair existing ones, the governor urged residents who have been calling on him to fix their local networks to remain calm, as plans are underway to repair major paths in the county.
