Nyamira County Governor John Nyagarama has threatened to blacklist all contractors doing sub-standard jobs on roads.
Nyagarama said that it was time that the residents realised value for there money. He added that the fruits of devolution ought to be tasted and felt to the grassroots.
Nyagarama also said a part from blacklisting the contractors, they could be forced to redo the tasks.
"It's high time that the local mwananchi realised the value for their money and so on roads, we are going to crack the whip on lazy contractors who are doing substandard jobs.
We will also force them to redo the roads before we finally blacklist them," he warned.
The governor is on an inspection exercise of county roads and says that he has been so far been impressed with the good job done on over 110km of the roads he has visited.
He also asked the residents to remain calm as the process of opening up new roads will take time due to the terrain of the county.
Meanwhile, he urged the Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) to hasten the exercise of removing power posts from road reserves for faster operations.
