Nyamira County governor John Nyagarama has asked locals to seek regular medical check ups to ease fight against diseases.
Speaking during the opening of the County Assembly in Nyamira after recess, Nyagarama said many deaths in the county have been as a result of ignorance and irregular check ups.
He said that most deadly diseases would be contained if detected early.
"I call upon everyone in my county to make efforts of visiting our hospitals for check ups as this will enable us to tackle some diseases which can be handled easily in early stages," said Nyagarama.
He also asked the youth to abstain from premarital relationships and other irresponsible habits that may ruin their lives.
He asked them to know their health status before entering into relationships.
