Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama says the county government is employing 220 health officers.
Addressing the medics in Kebirigo high school where he was closing a five-day induction of the officers, Nyagarama on Friday termed the exercise as one of the biggest achievements under his leadership.
"I am happy this big number has crossed the bridge of unemployment to employment. This is a big achievement under my leadership and I am pleased," the governor said.
Nyagarama, however, warned them that negligence and any misconduct would not be tolerated and may lead to one losing the job.
He urged them to put the needs of the customers at heart and serve them diligently.
He also said that this will counter the acute shortage of health officers in the county.
