Borabu MP Ben Momanyi has asked his counterparts Elijah Moindi (Nyaribari Masaba) and Timothy Bosire (Kitutu Masaba) to establish an amicable remedy to the boundary dispute at Keroka Town.
Mr Momanyi also asked Nyamira governor John Nyagarama and Kisii County boss James Ongwae to help solve impending issues at the town situated at the boarder of the two counties.
Speaking on Tuesday at Keroka during a funeral ceremony, the MP said talks between the two sides would end wrangles and disputes experienced in the town.
“I want to encourage people of Keroka to remain calm. We have been hearing ugly stories in the town of people from Nyamira engaging those from Kisii. Our people have lived well since time immemorial and therefore we don’t want to see heinous actions taking place. We want peace to continue,” said Mr Momanyi.
He added: “We are all Kisiis and we live in our two counties. Mr Moindi and Mr Bosire, sit down with the two governors to establish the boundary and end the dispute.”
On his side, Mr Moindi claimed the dispute at Keroka is politically motivated.
“We have had talks in the past. It's a few individuals who incite our people to cause trouble. There is nothing big here. We know Keroka is a shared town and we have agreed on how we carry our operations,” he said.
