A section of members of the Nyamira County Assembly has condemned the alleged non-payment of their health cover.
In a heated exchange in the assembly on Wednesday, the MCAs said they lacked medical cover because they realised the county has not paid for their health insurance when they go to various hospitals for treatment.
"We are unhappy with the way things are going. We want a statement to why some of the MCAs lack the important service through the insurance when they are seeking medication," demanded Rose Osusu, a nominated MCA.
Her colleague, Zipporah Osoro accused the county of sidelining a section of MCAs in the payment for the health scheme.
"Others have their insurance covers updated. Why is it that it is a section of us who have not been catered for?" Osoro questioned.
The majority leader, Laban Masira admitted there was a problem but promised to look into the matter to ensure everybody MCA is covered.
