Nyamira residents have been urged to seek alternative ways of solving their domestic conflicts instead of rushing to courts for arbitration every time.
Speaking in Nyamira town when she officially opened a probation service office in Nyamira town on Thursday, County Commissioner Josephine Onunga said there have been a tendency of people rushing to court and wasting resources on issues they can easily solve at home.
“We have village elders and chiefs who can guide the villagers on how to solve domestic conflicts before they rush to court,” she added.
She urged probation officers to keep abreast with the changing wave of crime facing the county to be able to prevent budding criminals from turning into hardcore criminals.
Onunga called upon all chiefs and their assistants to ensure that they give good judgment and give free guidance to all residents to avoid domestic violence.
