Farmers in Nyansiongo ward in Borabu sub county have been urged to take advantage of the ongoing rains to plant more trees and crops that do well with rain.
Speaking in Nyansiongo grounds early today, the Nyansiongo ward representative and leader of minority in Nyamira assembly Jackson Mogusu said that the region is expected to receive heavy rainfall until the end of December.
He urged farmers to take advantage of the rains saying that it will be a good season hence farmers should prepare their farms early so that they can reap benefits.
This is following the Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) advise to the counties to brace themselves for heavy rains and resultant floods expected to be experienced in November.
Currently, there are ongoing rains in the area and some farmers have already began taking advantage of the situation by planting and preparing their farms.
