Seme MP James Nyikal has called on Parliament Majority Leader Aden Duale and Senate Deputy Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen to step aside over the National Youth Service scandal.
Nyikal told the two to step down from their respective positions in Parliament and Senate to pave way for investigations.
The MP said the two have since become corruption suspects and should not continue holding public office before they are cleared.
Addressing the press at his constituency on Thursday, Nyikal said President Uhuru Kenyatta had set a precedent of having corruption suspects holding public offices step aside to give space for investigations, hence the two are not any special.
The two were linked to the scam which saw Sh791 million lost by former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru.
Even though the two have since denied involvement, Nyikal feels they need to step aside and let an investigation done to ascertain what part they played in the scam.
“The two MPs have in many occasions called on corruption suspects to step aside and it is noble that they also step aside, but that does not mean they are guilty,” said Nyikal.
He added: “Given their positions in the Jubilee government, it is worrying that their names featured yet the President has not said a thing about it. The president must act now or wait for the wrath of the Parliament and the people.”
He warned that the Parliament may institute an impeachment motion against President Kenyatta over the widespread corruption which has seen Kenyans lose billions of shillings.
“Currently Kenyans are treated to corruption after corruption. The Eurobond issue is not yet settled,” said Nyikal.
